It's the series finale, so even though I haven't made one since season two, I thought I'd make an episode discussion post in case anyone wants to share their thoughts.

Series Finale
4.21 "How I Met Your Mullet"
4.22 "The Father Daughter Dance"

Jimmy and Sabrina get a surprise when they learn that Sabrina’s late grandmother has left them the family maid (guest star Lesley Nicol), who has a lifetime contract with the family. Meanwhile, Virginia gets a promotion at work that allows Burt to retire and pursue his passion – even if he doesn’t know what his passion is. Then, Virginia’s father, Arnold (guest star Jeffrey Tambor), returns to Natesville seeking help in planning his upcoming wedding. But Arnold surprises everyone when he reveals that the wedding Virginia has planned is really for her and Burt – the dream wedding they never got to have as teen parents.

I forgot to post this earlier, so I'm doing it now at 2am before I forget. Raising Hope has officially been cancelled. (I say officially because the move to Friday, inconsistent air/return dates, and burning off of episodes made for really low ratings, which pretty much meant cancellation was inevitable.) It's good to know that they made the S4 finale with possible cancellation in mind, though.

Here's a TV Line article about the cancellation:

The Chances have run out of chances.

Fox has announced that Raising Hope will end its run on April 4, with a one-hour finale.

“On behalf of myself, Greg Garcia and Raising Hope‘s amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons,” executive producer Mike Mariano said in a statement. “We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.”

The hour-long series finale kicks off at 9/8c with “How I Met Your Mullet,” in which guest star Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) plays Jimmy and Sabrina’s new maid. Then, in “The Father Daughter Dance” (airing at 9:30), Virginia’s dad (returning guest star Jeffrey Tambor, Arrested Development) returns to Natesville with a big surprise for her and Burt — including a musical performance by Kenny Loggins.

Thank you for four seasons and a lot of laughs, show! And I hope to see the incredibly talented cast in something else soon!

Just wanted to remind everyone that Raising Hope comes back tonight with a new episode, 4x11 "Hey There Delilah," at 9pm! It's kind of hard to keep track of the show nowadays since FOX doesn't seem very invested in it anymore. (E.g. it's been relegated to Fridays, the new season didn't start until mid-November, and they were showing two eps a night for the first half of the season, as though they're burning off the show. Basically, all those things have contributed to super low ratings.)

If you need to catch up with the first ten episodes of season four, you can watch the current season at places like FOX on Demand, FOX.com, and Hulu.

Question: What does every think of season four so far? I'm enjoying this season a lot more than two/three. I feel that it's gone back to what I loved from season one. I also never cared for Jimmy/Sabrina before (didn't really want them together and thought it was crazy for them to get engaged so quickly), but they work really well as a married couple. I love them together now. Burt and Virginia are the best as always.

Btw, if you want icons from the first three seasons, I posted some months ago here.
